The Model Shipyard Can Build You A Cutty Sark Model Ship

The Model Shipyard can build any model ship in the scale you require.  The parts in model ship kits are usually out of scale and inaccurate, so we make our own parts.  We are especially proud of our Cutty Sark model ship.  It captures to flair of the original down to the finest detail.  The Cutty Sark model ship is commonly supplied in 1:96 or 1:78 scale.

The Cutty Sark was a 19th Century English Tea Clipper, built in 1869 and designed for exceptional speed – she was commissioned by Scotsman John “Jock” Willis and he had wanted her to be back home first with the new season’s tea from China.  However, in the year she was launched, the Suez Channel opened, the tea clipper industry waned and Cutty Sark carried her last tea in 1877.  She started her journey from owner to owner, being refitted several times along the way and sailed until 1938.  She is now in a dedicated dry dock at Greenwich.

We build the Cutty Sark model with the same loving attention to detail as all our other model ships.  Quality takes time and this is not a fast process – it will be several weeks until delivery, so let us know well in advance if you require it for someone’s birthday.  We offer a money-back guarantee as well, but nobody has ever returned a ship.  Our model shipbuilders are professionals people like carpenters, teachers and accountants – they build model ships because they love it and our ships’ quality is evident at once.
