Historic model ship builder

As long ago as 3200 BC there were historic model ship builders in Egypt, who invented the earliest form of plank and frame building as well as sails for their ships. Greek ship builders followed some 500 years later and historic models have been found of two-mast ships. Viking longboats were the best early ships to be built in Europe between 700 and 1100AD, and it was not until two hundred years later that the first stern-rudder ships were being built. Models of historic ships are extremely popular today both for their aesthetic beauty and their sheer romance. They are mostly used as an ‘interior decoration’ both in the private home and in the corporate world.

A good historic model ship builder today has to ensure that his models are of ‘museum quality’. This means that they must comply with the standards laid down in a paper published by the Smithsonian Museum in conjunction with the Mariners’ Museum and Mystic Seaport Museum. Any completed model commissioned by you will be registered in your name and a certificate of authenticity and registration will be issued with the completed model.
